In partnership with the National Network for Youth, the Provincial Council, Clerics of St. Viator, Province of Chicago, has endorsed the Runaway Homeless Youth and Trafficking Prevention Act (RHYTPA).

RHYTPA reauthorizes and updates the federal Runaway and Homeless Youth Act (RHYA) program. RHYA is the only federal funding for community-based organizations to:

  • Provide housing and supportive services to young people ages 14 to 22 who have no safe living arrangements with family or otherwise.
  • Prevent young people from experiencing trafficking and identify and serve those who have.
  • Connect young people to education, employment, and other services that support their wellbeing.
