The new edition of the VISION Vocation Guide, an annual magazine for people discerning religious life, features Viatorian brothers giving witness to religious brotherhood. In the lead story in the religious brothers section, Br. Carlos Flórez, CSV, Br. Michael Gosch, CSV, and Br. Rob Robertson, CSV reflect on their brotherhood vocations and the way they live their vocations out in community life and ministry.

Br. Carlos said he likes to orient people to his vocation in his self-introduction. “I usually say, ‘I’m Brother Carlos,’ and explain that means dedicating my life to God through community, mission, and service – not as a priest, but as a brother among the people,” he said.
Br. Carlos serves as director of Catholic and Viatorian mission and identity at Cristo Rey St. Viator College Prep in North Las Vegas, NV; Br. Michael serves as director of housing and programs for Viator House of Hospitality in the Chicago area; and Br. Rob reflected on his work as a school counselor, and now is shifting into student support services this year at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas. The three brothers agree that their ministries have no “typical day,” as they flexibly strive to meet the various needs of people they accompany and serve.
