Fr. Daniel Mirabelli, CSV, died on February 21, 2026 in Moline, IL. He was born on September 24, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of John and Linda (Micelli) Mirabelli. He is survived by his sister Marianna Dituro of Downers Grove, IL. Dan pronounced his first vows on February 2, 1952. He was ordained May 28, 1960, by Bishop Martin McNamara at the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus, Joliet, IL.

Fr. Mirabelli graduated from Fenwick High School, Oak Park, IL. He earned a BA in history from St. Ambrose College, Davenport, IA, and an MA in American History from Loyola University Chicago. During the school year of 1955-56, he taught at Spalding Institute in Peoria, IL. He served as business manager and teacher at St. Viator High School in Arlington Heights, IL, from 1961 to 1966. From there, he went to Alleman High School in Rock Island, IL, where he served as teacher, business manager, Director of Development and Chaplain from 1966 until his retirement in 2023. Fr. Mirabelli continued to live in the Rock Island area after retirement.
