The mission of the Social Justice Resource Center is to link faith to action by providing information and resources on the social issues of our time. This free website hosted by the Archdiocese of Chicago offers resources, publications and action items on 25 different issues, including the environment.
In its August newsletter, SJRC officials look at the impact of plastic on the environment, sharing statistics about how much is manufactured each year to how much plastic is ingested by sea birds and marine mammals — and how much plastic, including single use water bottles, are in landfills.
