Jubilee USA released a statement from the meeting of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank, where they led a discussion on debt restructuring for countries owing money to official and private creditors.

The statement read in part: “One of the most important things that happened during the meeting was noting that creditors who take longer to negotiate a debt restructuring with a country may need to offer more debt relief than those creditors who negotiate a debt restructuring sooner.”
