Reflections as We Approach Holy Week

April 2, 2020

Fr. Patrick Render, CSV, and Fr. Moses Mesh, CSV, return here with another installment of their reflections, recorded at St. Viator Parish in Chicago. Their message comes as we get deeper into the realities of the COVID-19 pandemic and prepare for Holy Week.

“Everyone is experiencing the threat and reality of fear,” Fr. Render says, “but beautiful things are happening. There are wonderful ways in which people are helping one another. This crisis is bringing out the best in humanity. It’s an opportunity of grace.”

Both he and Fr. Moses urge listeners to use this opportunity of grace to prepare for Holy Week and to reflect more deeply on the events of Jesus during in this sacred week.

“Enter into the divine mystery of the dying and resurrection of Christ,” Fr. Render adds, “so that through this pandemic your life may be changed. The world may be changed. That’s the opportunity.”
