The latest exhibit at the Province Center features a small sampling of the art that Br. Leo V. Ryan, CSV, collected when he was the Peace Corp Director of Western Nigeria from 1966-1967.  The artwork on display includes a wood sculpture of a Nigerian woman (left) and man (right) and three cast bronze busts (in center) below a framed batik fabric of three Nigerian people – all creations of  the local artisans.  From afar it may look like a simple exhibit, but up close the intricacies of the artistic workmanship is more apparent and easier to enjoy.

The colors of orange, brown and forest green are perfect for the fall season upon us.  This exhibit will be on display until the Christmas season.  Hope you get a chance to see it!
