The Viatorian General Council has completed its pastoral visitation to our Foundation of Colombia, and the two weeks were packed with joyful celebration.
Superior General Fr. Nestor Fils-Aimé, CSV, visited with Vicar General Fr. Victor Cámara, CSV, of Spain who ministers in Honduras and General Councilor Fr. Gerardo Soto, CSV, of Chile who is local superior of our community in Rome.
In Tunja, Colegio San Viator (St. Viator School) hosted a big slate of celebrations to mark its 10th year. Viatorians took on leadership and reestablished the school in 2017, and General Treasurer Fr. Fredy Contreras, CSV, is rector of the school.
The school’s library was rededicated in name of Fr. Pedro Herrera, CSV, who was the school’s founding rector is also the first Colombian to become a Viatorian religious. Monseñor Gabriel Ángel Villa Vahos, Archbishop of Tunja, blessed the library and celebrated Mass with the General Council, Provincial Superior Fr. Mark Francis, CSV, Fr. Gustavo López, CSV, and Fr. Edwin Ruiz, CSV concelebrating.
Additionally, Fr. Mark and Fr. Nestor cut the ribbon on the new Fr. Mark Francis, CSV, Maker Xperience Hub at the school, and Fr. JJ Ruiz de Eguílaz, CSV, from Spain performed with young people as part of the concert and galas for the celebrations.

In Bogotá, Colegio San Viator celebrated 65 years since the arrival of the first Viatorians from the United States to Colombia.
