Near the end of their General Council meeting earlier this month, Fr. Robert M. Egan, CSV, Superior General and members of his Council visited Arricia, site of Casa Devin Maestro, located just outside of Rome, where the 2024 General Chapter will be held.

The General Council represents Viatorian provinces around the world. Its member include: Fr. Claudio Rios, CSV, the Vicar General from the Province of Chile; Fr. Andre Crozier, CSV, General Secretary from the Province of France; Fr. Carlos Orduna, CSV, a General Councilor from the Foundation of Ivory Coast; and Br. Benoit Tremblay, CSV, from the Province of Canada.

Pope Francis and the Roman Curia gather each year in Arrica for a Lenten retreat. The building is just south of Rome and set on the wooded slopes of Lake Albano. The retreat center overlooks Castel Gandolfo and is nestled at the foot of Monte Cavo, the second highest mountain in the Alban Hills.

Casa Devin has 120 rooms, several chapels, an auditorium, a modern Chapter meeting room and a large park and path of an artistic Via Crucis and the Mysteries of the Rosary.

“The entire Council was able to travel to Arricia during our meeting and see the improved and renovated facility,” Fr. Egan adds. “It will meet all our needs for an effective and smooth General Chapter.”
