Fr. Jason Nesbit, CSV, majored in history at Southern Illinois University and minored in business administration. Turns out both degrees help him in his role as pastor of Maternity BVM Parish in Bourbonnais.

In this latest podcast episode of Viatorian Voices: Conversations Along the Way, Fr. Jason talks about the responsibility of preserving the 175-year old parish, known as the Mother Church of the Viatorian Community. But he also talks about best practices and creating benchmarks to meet in terms of carrying out the parish’s mission of evangelization.

“If it was just a matter of preservation, the parish would gradually die,” Fr. Jason says. “We are committed to making Maternity BVM a vibrant parish of today.”

Learn the ways in which he and parish leaders are doing that — and just how his identity as a Viatorian priest sustains him.
