For the first time since his election last summer as superior general, Fr. Alain Ambeault, CSV, of Canada is leading a conclave of Viatorian leaders from around 
the world, at the community’s province center in Arlington Heights, IL. This Extraordinary General Council often gathers in Rome and involves Fr. Ambeault’s general council as well as provincials of different countries and translators.
“This is an intense moment of Viatorian internationality,” said Fr. Ambeault, in a letter urging members to come to the meeting with an open mind and prepared to work. “We need to have a perspective that calls us to a future we need to discover and welcome with hope.”
Leaders attending the meeting represent Viatorian provinces and foundations in Rome, Haiti, France, Spain, Chile, Canada and Chicago.
They expect to examine ways of promoting the community’s global identity and international solidarity, as well as identifying ways to promote vocations and advance social justice.
