With firm faith and a sense of purpose, the new Provincial Superior and his Council members accepted their roles of service and leadership to the Viatorian Province of Chicago, during a solemn ceremony.
The historic rite of installation took place in the Province Center chapel in Arlington Heights, before Viatorian associates, brothers and priests.
Fr. Thomas von Behren, CSV, accepted his third term as Provincial, becoming only the second Viatorian to do so.
Fr. Lawrence Lentz, CSV, the former associate pastor at St. Thomas More Parish in Henderson, NV, was installed as Assistant Provincial, while Fr. Robert Egan, CSV, Fr. Daniel Hall, CSV and Br. Rob. Robertson, CSV, all promised to share the responsibilities and authority of the province, as council members.
“Tom, with confidence in the providence of God, you and your council will be a sign of God’s loving presence,” said Fr. Mark Francis, CSV, during his homily, “that reveals itself to us in service, helping us to walk humbly with our God.”
