The past week was an extremely difficult one for many who live in the rural areas of the Midwest, and officials with Catholic Rural Life are asking for prayers for all the affected farm families.

From eastern Colorado through South Dakota, Nebraska and western Iowa, snow in some areas and flooding in others have caused severe challenges. It is calving season, and the storms wreaked havoc for ranchers who had to seek dry ground and protection for their livestock.

With the heavy snowfall this winter and warmer temperatures forecasted for the start of spring, there is continued threat of more flooding for all who live along major rivers and tributaries in the Midwest. Please pray for all of the farmers, ranchers and others living in rural communities who are located in vulnerable areas.
