during a prayer service on Dec. 16, that mixed his sense of calling with a renewed sense of joy.

Fr. Mick Egan, CSV, Superior General, presided over the ceremony, and he offered his heartfelt thanks to Fr. Hall and his four councilors — Br. Michael Gosch, CSV, Fr. Mark Francis, CSV, Fr. Dan Lydon, CSV, and Br. Rob Robertson, CSV.

“We gather to give thanks for their willingness to serve,” Fr. Egan said to the Viatorians and extended family members in attendance.

Ironically, Fr. Hall, his councilors and Fr. Egan all share a common bond in Saint Viator High School. While Fr. Hall and Br. Robertson taught at the high school for more than 20 years, Fr. Egan, Br. Gosch, Fr. Francis and Fr. Lydon all are graduates of the high school.

In accepting his role as Provincial, Fr. Hall pointed to the Book of Micah, and his prophetic words: “to act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with the Lord.”

“This is such a humbling experience to be called by my brothers to be their pastor,” Fr. Hall said, “but I embrace it and strive to fulfill the words of the Prophet Micah, every day.

“As a council,” he added, “we will strive to act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with Our Lord.”
