Fr. Corey Brost, CSV, Bart Hisgen, of the vocation ministry office for the Viatorians, and Chris Wells, director of alumni relations, made another college visit this winter, this time meeting up with Saint Viator High School alumni attending Marquette University in Milwaukee.
The historic St. Joan of Arc Chapel on Marquette’s campus was the setting for the visit, which included a private Mass and casual dinner.
“I want our alums to know that we are committed to their spiritual growth through college and beyond,” Fr. Brost said.
In January, the same group visited with alumni at the St. John Newman Catholic Center on the campus of the University of Illinois in Champaign and at least one more campus stop may be in the future.
There are many ways for alumni to stay connected with the Viatorian mission. During the latest visit, Chris Wells, director of alumni relations, emphasized opportunities such as this summer’s Service & Song summer camp as well as other upcoming alumni events at the high school, while Bart described the Belize Immersion Trip in May and the Viatorian Youth Congress in August.
In November, Fr. Brost and Bart traveled to the University of Illinois in Champaign, where they gathered with nearly two dozen Saint Viator grads at the university’s St. John’s Catholic Newman Center for a similar visit that included Mass and dinner.
Fr. Brost says he wants to reconnect and affirm students as they continue their college education, keeping them ever mindful of their place in the Viatorian mission.
