Dan Masterton brought a wealth of experience in working with young people when he joined the Viatorians’ staff  as the assistant vocations minister in 2019.

Mostly, he had worked in campus ministry — at high schools in the Chicago area and in California — where he established retreat programs with substantial student leadership formation. Supporting young men as they navigate a possible religious vocation seemed like the next natural step.

Dan is the subject of the third episode, in a new podcast series called Viatorian Voices: Conversations on the Way. Each episode is 15 minutes or less, and covers a wide range of topics within the Viatorian Community.

In this one, Dan talks with moderator Jim Mitchell about building relationships and understanding the role God plays in our lives. In particular, he describes the ways he has kept up relationships with Viatorians that started at Saint Viator High School and continued into adulthood.

“That’s the thing about Viatorians, they care a lot about keeping in touch personally,” Dan says. “It’s rarely transactional but it’s always personal, friendly and authentic.”
