Viatorians support the Washington-based Latin America Working Group in its mission to ensure that U.S. policies advance human rights, peace, and social, environmental, and economic justice in Latin America and the Caribbean.

As part of that mission, the organization regularly highlights top articles and reports related to issues of U.S. immigration and enforcement policy and migration from Central America and Mexico.

Among their latest briefs is one from the Washington Post that reports that the Trump administration will begin sending asylum seekers to Guatemala while they await their hearings, as soon as this week.

In another brief, the Texas Tribune reports on the inhumane conditions at a makeshift camp along the Rio Grande where thousands await asylum in the U.S.
