Viatorians around the world commit themselves to “raising up communities where faith is lived, deepened and celebrated.” At St. Viator Parish in Las Vegas this summer, that means deepening the faith life of children — through Vacation Bible School.
Viatorian Associate Rosy Hartz and her youth ministry staff launched Kingdom Rock, where children learned how to “stand strong for God.”
In all, 80 children from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade turned out for the summer faith experience. Helping Rosy lead the kingdom were 22 youth leaders and eight adults.
Campers rotated through different stations, including enchanted crafts, fairy tale songs, tournament games and an imagination station.
“Every morning we opened with a Bible verse of the day,” Rosy says, “and we closed each day with our theme song. It was a great week, with lots of energy and fun.”
