“In our country we have so much for which to be thankful. Many of the blessings we have we sometimes take for granted.

This Felix Urbina painting, from the Viatorian religious art collection, depicts Christ blessing a family at table.

Thanksgiving gives us an opportunity to pause from our very busy lives to reflect on the blessings we have received.

Loving God, you are the creator and source of all that is good in this world. We pray today, especially, in thanks for all that you have given us. We thank you for our prosperity, our gifts and talents. We thank you too for the trials we face in this life, because they make us stronger. Lord, we thank you for the gift of your Son. He gives our lives purpose, meaning and direction. We pray that you instill in us a spirit of gratitude which permeates our being every day of our lives.”

May God bless you and your family.
