A recent acquisition to the St. Viator College collection is this Illinois State Catholic Tournament medal from 1931. The high school basketball tournament was hosted by St. Viator College in Bourbonnais, IL.
It prompted a little research in the school newspaper, The Viatorian, to find out more. It turns out that “each team member was given a medalette, presented by St. Viator College, to be worn as a watch charm indicating that the wearer was a participant in the 1931 Illinois State Catholic Tournament.”
