As a member of Saint Viator High School’s theology department, Viatorian Associate Ann Perez teaches sophomore scripture and senior ethics. But that’s just the beginning.

Ann also leads the Adult Faith Formation committee where she develops monthly opportunities for faculty members and parents to deepen their faith through prayer services, liturgies and service. She also provides an introduction to new teachers on what it means to be Viatorian educators.

These varied roles seem to exemplify her commitment as a Viatorian associate — which she and her husband, Chris, made in 2018 — to “raise up communities where faith is lived, deepened and celebrated.”

Yet, her colleagues on the faculty took it one step further. At the end of the year,  they voted Ann to receive the “Greatest Gift Award,” which is given to a faculty member each year who has consistently and effectively been an example and vehicle of God’s love to Saint Viator students.

Br. John Eustice, CSV, who serves as Vice President of Viatorian Identity and Mission at the high school, says the award is well deserved.

“Ann is a theology teacher who cares deeply about her students,” he says. “Her heart is 100% dedicated to proclaiming the gospel in all she does.”
