October 24, 2019

Viatorians support the Washington-based Latin America Working Group in its mission to ensure that U.S. policies advance human rights, peace, and social, environmental, and economic justice in Latin America and the Caribbean.

As part of that mission, the organization regularly highlights top articles and reports related to issues of U.S. immigration and enforcement policy and migration from Central America and Mexico.

A Bloomberg report exposes how coyotes, or people smugglers in Mexico, are getting rich at the expense of women and children trying to cross the border. In fact, that story reports the shocking number of children who have died this year while trying to cross, up dramatically from the prior year.
