Associates Patrick and Sharon Mahoney and Joan Sweeney (Arlington Heights/Chicago region) made their initial two year commitments as associates, Associate Leona Iglinski (Henderson/Las Vegas region) renewed her commitment as an associate for a period of five years, and Associates Mary Finks, Marilyn Mulcahy, and John Ohlendorf (Bourbonnais/Kankakee) made definitive commitments as associates during a Eucharistic celebration at Saint Viator High School Alumni Chapel on July 7, 2009. Mary, Marilyn, and John, who made their first commitments in 1999, are the first associates in the province to make a definitive commitment which is a commitment for an unlimited period of time. A discernment process looking back over their many years of involvement as associates and the gifts they offer, as well as the ongoing support and challenge of community members, led them to this significant decision.
