DePaul University honored Fr. John Milton, CSV, with its Via Sapientiae Award during the university’s 112th Commencement Exercises on June 13th. Fr. Milton retired this year from DePaul University after twenty-four years of teaching in the Department of Physics in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
The citation on his award reads as follows:
Fr. John W. Milton, CSV, your example and efforts as a physics teacher and mentor have prepared many students for advanced learning and productive professional lives. Your work with faculty members and high school teachers across the state in developing teaching skills have immeasurably multiplied the benefits of your own hard-won understanding. Your personal example and generous support of students and colleagues exemplify the Vincentian ideals on which this university is founded. You truly have launched a multitude on the ‘way of wisdom.’ For these reasons and more, DePaul University is honored to present you with the Via Sapientiae Award, the university’s highest faculty-staff honor.”
Congratulations John! |
