On December 12, 2009, members of the Saint Viator High School social justice group, Students Taking Action Now for Darfur (STAND), mounted their second annual Rock for Darfur concert which drew almost 300 teens and which afforded them a receptive venue to educate further about the conflict in Darfur.  The concert raised more than $5,000. Proceeds will go to a school in a Darfur refugee camp in the African nation of Chad. The students have decided to partner with the school in order to support the students there and learn more about their lives. During the concert, students’ video-taped greetings from numerous fellow students. The greetings will be included on a DVD sent to the school in Chad.
