On December 3rd-4th, 2009, forty students from Saint Martin de Porres High School (Waukegan, IL) and Saint Viator High School (Arlington Heights, IL) attended a Bridges Retreat in order to address issues of oppression, prejudice, racism, and white privilege.  Activities, group discussions, prayer, and talks centered on these controversial topics which led to frank discussions and a deeper understanding of themselves and others.  Acknowledging that much needs to done, the students have pledged to work together to commit to a Christian response when confronted with these injustices on a personal and societal level.  Fr. Corey Brost, CSV, and Br. Michael Gosch, CSV, served as adult participants on the retreat from SVHS and SMdPHS respectively.
