Las Posadas

The traditional Mexican Posada procession of re-enacting Mary and Joseph searching for an inn, serves to heighten current day immigration issues. Participants marched from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Center to St. Peter's Church in downtown Chicago.

Immigration Vigil
Dec. 13, 2011

Viatorians co-sponsor a prayer vigil that started at the Chicago Methodist Temple and continued with a candlelit procession to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Center.

Bridges Retreat

Saint Viator and St. Martin de Porres high school students gather for a retreat aimed at building bridges and talking about issues like racism, discrimination and diversity.

St. Viator Day 2011 Celebrations

Arlington Heights, Chicago, Las Vegas, Bogotá and Kyoto

Viatorians around the world celebrate their patron in many different ways. In Arlington Heights, Saint Viator High School students attend Mass before members of the Querbes Scholars program interview professed and lay associate Viatorians. In Chicago and Las Vegas, St. Viator parishes hold “Taste of St. Viator” festivals, celebrating the different cultures of parishioners. In Bogotá, Colegio San Viator students begin their day at Mass before heading outside for a parade.  While in Kyoto, Japan, students and parishioners celebrate the 60th anniversary of the school and parish founded by the Viatorians.

50th anniversary of the Foundation of Colombia

Viatorians returned to Bogotá to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Foundation of Colombia. Fr. James Crilly, CSV, one of the three founding missionaries, returned for the milestone celebration. The opening Mass drew 1,500 people from the school community and surrounding parishes staffed by Viatorians.

Interfaith 9/11 prayer service for peace

Earthquake in Haiti
January 12, 2010

The main building of the Viatorians in Haiti is the Villa Manrèse located in Port-au-Prince.  Villa Manrèse was destroyed in the earthquake and at least five employees and two guests were killed at the facility.  Please keep the people of Haiti in your prayers!
