The American Business Immigration Coalition believes immigrants are essential members of our economy and communities. Data from Forbes demonstrates that immigrant entrepreneurs and consumers contribute billions of taxes each year and start businesses at twice the rate as native born Americans.

According to Cato, in Texas in 2015, the criminal conviction and arrest rates for immigrants were well below those of native-born Americans. Moreover, the conviction and arrest rates for undocumented immigrants were lower than those for native-born Americans. This result holds for most crimes.

A new Gallup poll conducted January 21-27 reported that the majority of Americans support pathways to citizenship for undocumented immigrants in the US and increasing border patrol agents to strengthen security.

ABIC believes an opportunity exists for a bipartisan compromise to provide a path to citizenship for 1.7 millions DREAMers and 400,000 immigrants with TPS  while promoting security and prosperity for all. We encourage both Democrats and Republicans to listen to the American people and reach sensible immigration solutions to avoid another government shutdown.
